Etihad Airways Named Official Partner of Abu Dhabi Gold Cup and Presenting Partner of Race 1
Etihad Airways became the Official Partner of the Abu Dhabi Gold Cup and the Presenting Partner of Race 1 through a strategic alliance with the Abu Dhabi Turf Club. The event was held on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at Abu Dhabi Turf Club and featured a one-mile race with a USD 1 million prize fund.
It drew top thoroughbred horses, jockeys, and trainers from leading racing nations. Organized by the club, the race aimed to enhance Abu Dhabi’s standing in the international horse racing scene and showcase the UAE’s rich equestrian heritage. As part of the partnership, Etihad Airways facilitated the travel of international racing fans visiting the UAE capital. This collaboration united two Abu Dhabi organizations committed to promoting global connectivity, hospitality, and engagement.
Commenting on the partnership, Ali Al Shaiba, Director General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and Abu Dhabi Turf Club, and President of the Organising Committee, said the association with Etihad reinforces Abu Dhabi’s visibility on the international racing stage and highlights the emirate’s role in hosting major sporting events.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said the partnership reflects Etihad’s commitment to connecting Abu Dhabi with global audiences and supporting events that contribute to the emirate’s sporting and cultural calendar.
