Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Partners with Jaipur Rugs Foundation to Support Women Weavers

Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur has announced a long-term cultural partnership with the Jaipur Rugs Foundation to support women weavers across Rajasthan and to highlight traditional craftsmanship from the region.

The collaboration reflects the hotel’s effort to connect guests with local communities, traditions and cultural practices. Through this partnership, both organizations will work together to promote heritage crafts while creating opportunities for women artisans in weaving communities.

The initiative began with an International Women’s Day programme built around two themes — ‘Pehchaan: Her Identity’ and ‘Aayna: Her Reflection.’ The activities focused on encouraging self-expression and recognition among women artisans from the villages of Aaspura and Dhanota.

As part of the Pehchaan initiative, women artisans participated in a week-long workshop that focused on literacy and self-expression. The sessions helped participants move from using thumb impressions to writing and digitally signing their names, giving them greater confidence in managing personal and professional interactions.

The programme concluded at Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur with the Aayna experience. During this activity, the artisans stood before a decorative mirror and shared what they saw in themselves. What began as a quiet exercise gradually became a moment when many expressed pride, confidence, and personal growth.

Hotel guests were invited to witness the moment and participate in the experience by presenting flowers to the artisans after their reflections, turning the activity into a shared celebration of recognition and respect.

As part of the ongoing partnership, Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur plans to introduce cultural programmes that allow travellers to engage more closely with Rajasthan’s craft traditions. These will include visits to weaving villages, workshops led by artisans, storytelling sessions with master weavers and artists, and exhibitions within the hotel that highlight traditional weaving practices.

Vimal Verma, General Manager of Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur, said the partnership reflects the hotel’s intention to build meaningful connections between travellers and local communities. He added that working with the Jaipur Rugs Foundation allows the hotel to support women artisans while offering guests experiences rooted in regional culture and traditions.
