Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa Appoints Suman Kumar as Director of Engineering

Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of Suman Kumar as Director of Engineering, effective May 7, 2026.

Kumar brings over 14 years of experience in hospitality engineering, including expertise in pre-opening projects and large-scale hotel operations. In his new role, he will lead the resort’s engineering function, overseeing maintenance, safety, infrastructure, and operational efficiency across the property.

A graduate of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, with a degree in Technology and a diploma in Electrical Engineering, Kumar began his career in project engineering before transitioning into the hospitality sector. He has been associated with several hotel developments in North India, including pre-opening assignments at The Lalit Chandigarh, Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, and Hyatt Centric Chandigarh, where he most recently served as Chief Engineer.

Kumar’s experience includes implementing preventive maintenance programmes, managing hotel infrastructure, and supporting safety and compliance standards, with a focus on operational performance and guest experience.

He is recognised for his collaborative leadership approach and experience in building and managing engineering teams within hospitality environments.

In his new role, Kumar will support the resort’s focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term asset performance.

The appointment reflects Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa’s continued emphasis on strengthening its leadership team and enhancing operational capabilities.
