Emirates A380 Takes Centre Stage at ILA Berlin Aerospace Exhibition

Emirates marked the opening of ILA Berlin 2026 by welcoming Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, aboard its Airbus A380 at Berlin ExpoCenter Airport.

The Chancellor was received by Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, Volker Greiner, Emirates Vice President for North and Central Europe, and His Excellency Ahmed Alattar, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Germany. During the visit, the delegation toured the airline’s flagship aircraft and received an overview of its onboard features.

The airline also welcomed Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, and Dr Dietmar Woidke, Minister-President of Brandenburg, aboard the aircraft as part of the opening day activities.

The airline is participating in ILA Berlin from 10 to 14 June with its four-class Airbus A380, which is the only aircraft of its type on display at this year’s exhibition. Throughout the event, the aircraft is expected to receive industry professionals, trade visitors and government delegations from Germany and abroad.

The airline has regularly showcased the A380 at ILA Berlin since 2010, reflecting its long-standing presence in Germany and across Europe. The airline has served the German market since 1987 and continues to support tourism, trade and connectivity between Germany and destinations across its global network.

Currently, the airline operates daily services to Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Düsseldorf. The airline has also reiterated its plans to introduce scheduled daily flights to Berlin and Stuttgart. If implemented, the new routes would provide travellers with one-stop access to around 50 destinations through Emirates’ network, while supporting employment opportunities and tourism growth.

The presence of the airline’s A380 at ILA Berlin 2026 highlights the airline’s ongoing engagement with Germany’s aviation sector and its commitment to enhancing connectivity between Europe and international markets.
