Alaska Airlines Unveils Seattle World Cup 2026 Aircraft Livery Ahead of Tournament
Seattle World Cup 2026 Partnership Takes Flight with New Alaska Airlines Aircraft Design
As Seattle prepares to host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026, Alaska Airlines has introduced a new aircraft livery as part of its role as an Official Seattle World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter, in partnership with Qatar Airways.
The design has been applied to a Boeing 737-9 MAX, registration number 985AK, and features the Seattle Host City logo alongside a football in motion. The artwork reflects the energy surrounding the tournament while highlighting the city’s connection to the global sporting event.
Drawing inspiration from the official Seattle Host City poster, the livery also incorporates Alaska Airlines’ whale tail graphic, linking the aircraft to the Pacific Northwest’s maritime heritage. On the underside of the aircraft, the message “WE ARE SEATTLE” has been added as a nod to the airline’s hometown roots and its role in connecting travellers to the city.

“Alaska Airlines helps carry Seattle and our region’s story to audiences across its network,” said Peter Tomozawa, Chief Executive Officer of SeattleFWC26.
“This livery reflects the character of the Pacific Northwest and serves as an invitation for visitors to experience the region during the tournament.”
Beyond aircraft design, Alaska Airlines is supporting a number of community initiatives related to the Seattle World Cup 2026 activities. These include support for the recent Blind Soccer international tournament, community art installations developed in collaboration with local organisations, and participation in a Seattle Host City Flag-raising ceremony at the Space Needle.
Partner organizations involved in these programmes include the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes and the Museum of Flight, both of which work within the Seattle community.

Eric Edge, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at Alaska Airlines, said the new livery reflects the airline’s connection to Seattle and its growing international network.
“We are pleased to welcome visitors to Seattle alongside the local Seattle FIFA World Cup Host Committee,” said Edge.
“This aircraft design recognises our hometown and highlights the airline’s connections with destinations across the world.”
With the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaching, the aircraft will serve as a visible symbol of Seattle’s preparations for one of the world’s largest sporting events and the city’s efforts to welcome visitors from around the globe.
