Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo Opens in Yucatán
Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Inmobilia Desarrollos have announced the opening of Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo, which is the second Hyatt-branded hotel in the state of Yucatán, joining the Hyatt Regency Mérida. This new property, owned by Inmobilia, is situated within the mixed-use development of Vía Montejo. It offers the Hyatt Place brand’s design and amenities, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and 24-hour dining options for travellers.
Situated within Vía Montejo’s mixed-use complex, the 11-story Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo features 142 guestrooms with city views and contemporary amenities suited for business and leisure travellers. Each room includes designated areas for sleeping, working, and relaxing, along with a corner sofa sleeper and a seating area.
Vía Montejo is a mixed-use development situated at the end of Prolongación Paseo Montejo in the northern district of Mérida. Recognized by the International Property Awards, it features a combination of residential buildings, commercial spaces anchored by the Harbor Lifestyle Mall, and corporate facilities. Additionally, the development houses the new U.S. Consulate and Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“As Mérida continues to expand economically, we are pleased to be part of the Vía Montejo community and introduce the first Hyatt Place hotel in Yucatán,” said Baltazar Pille, General Manager.
“With our flexible social spaces and guestrooms designed for productivity and relaxation, we look forward to welcoming a wide range of travellers.”
Located approximately 20 minutes from Mérida International Airport and directly across from the U.S. Consulate, Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo offers access to universities, shopping centres, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The property is also conveniently connected to primary transportation links, including the Tren Maya, the IE-Tram route, and several urban transport options. The Tren Maya connects Mérida with beaches, archaeological sites, and regional destinations such as Cancún and Tulum.
The hotel offers several dining options, including complimentary breakfast at the Breakfast Bar with hot items and fresh fruit. The 24/7 Market provides grab-and-go meals, while The Placery at the lobby bar offers a menu featuring coffees, beers, wines, and cocktails in flexible lounge and work areas.
Additional amenities include an outdoor terrace and pool, a 24/7 fitness centre, complimentary self-parking, and the Hyatt Place Necessities program, allowing guests to buy, borrow, or request everyday items.
For meetings and events, the hotel features 1,077 square feet of space, including two rooms that can be combined for larger gatherings. The spaces offer access to an outdoor area, catering options, audiovisual equipment, and free Wi-Fi.
Inmobilia, a Yucatán-based company, continues to focus on regional development through long-term investment and sustainable planning. For more than two decades, the company has delivered major projects across Mérida, including Vía Montejo, which integrates urban planning, innovation, and community-focused design.
