Elysium Spa & Wellness House Opens at Hotel La Compañía del Valle in Panama
Hyatt Hotels Corporation and La Compañía Hotels & Resorts have announced the opening of Elysium Spa & Wellness House, a 22,000-square-foot wellness space located at Hotel La Compañía del Valle, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in the highlands of El Valle de Antón, Panama.
Drawing inspiration from Roman bathhouses and the volcanic landscape of Panama, Elysium Spa features interiors with arched stone passageways, volcanic stone, marble, and timber elements. Subtle lighting and textured materials create a tranquil environment that is deeply rooted in the surrounding natural setting.
Guests can experience a range of wellness offerings, including thermal pools, steam rooms, and treatment suites dedicated to wine and cacao therapy. Natural light filters through vaulted ceilings, and private terraces provide views of the nearby cloud forest and La India Dormida mountain. Every design detail—from mosaic tiles to the aroma of eucalyptus—has been curated to create a calm and sensory-focused environment.
Spa Experiences
The treatment menu blends natural ingredients and regional influences. Options include Wine Therapy, which utilizes grape-based antioxidants to nourish the skin, and the Lavender Ritual, a combination of exfoliation and a body wrap designed for relaxation. Body wraps, such as the Cacao Experience Wrap, Geisha Coffee Wrap, and Panama-Citrus Wrap, utilize locally sourced ingredients like papaya, coffee, and cacao.
Additional treatments feature pomegranate, volcanic Jejú Jolitdaecha extract, and bamboo in scrubs and facials. Massage therapies include Feel Elysium, Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, and sports options designed to relieve tension and support circulation.
Guests receiving spa treatments also have access to facilities including a Himalayan salt room, aromatherapy steam room, mud therapy room, jacuzzi, and sensory deprivation pool. Refreshments are included as part of the spa experience.
Hotel La Compañía del Valle is a 72-room property situated within an extinct volcanic crater, featuring Tuscan-inspired architecture and a sculpture park that displays over 200 works in marble, steel, granite, bronze, and wood. The hotel is situated approximately two hours from Panama City and offers an experience centered on wellness and a connection with nature.
The property complements Hotel La Compañía Casco Antiguo in Panama City, housed in a restored 17th-century Jesuit convent. Together, the two hotels provide travelers with the opportunity to experience both Panama’s historic and natural settings.
