Emirates Strengthens Regional Focus with New UAE National Commercial Appointments
Emirates has announced a series of new commercial leadership appointments across West Asia, the Indian Ocean, and Africa, effective 1 August. The changes are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its regional presence and support the development of UAE National talent in international markets.
The appointments include:

Jaber Mohamed, currently Country Manager for Bangladesh, will take on the role of Country Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Talal Al Gergawi, currently serving as Country Manager for Zimbabwe, will assume the role of Country Manager for Bangladesh.

Salem Almana, currently Regional Manager for Pakistan, will assume the role of Country Manager for Ghana.

Omar Bushlaibi, Country Manager for Zambia, will temporarily oversee operations in Zimbabwe, in addition to his current responsibilities.
These changes form part of Emirates’ commercial outstation managers programme, which is designed to provide UAE Nationals with broader leadership exposure and hands-on experience across the airline’s global network. By rotating through diverse markets, managers are allowed to build local market knowledge, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and contribute to Emirates’ regional strategy.
The programme also aligns with the UAE’s Emiratisation efforts, offering UAE Nationals structured career growth opportunities while contributing to both the airline’s and the nation’s broader economic and aviation goals.
Emirates continues to invest in the professional development of its Emirati workforce, recognising their role in shaping the future of the organisation and supporting the UAE’s long-term strategic vision.
