Minor Hotels Appoints Michael Robinson as General Manager of Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort

Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Michael Robinson as General Manager of Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, effective 30 June 2025.
Michael brings over 15 years of international experience across the United States, the Middle East, and Asia. Known for his guest-focused approach and operational insight, he has held leadership roles that have contributed to enhanced performance and service delivery across various properties.
He joins the Dubai property following his role as General Manager at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, where he oversaw key enhancements and reported improvements in guest satisfaction and operational efficiency over a two-and-a-half-year tenure. Before that, he led FCC Angkor by Avani in Siem Reap, Cambodia, through its post-pandemic recovery, guiding the resort’s relaunch and supporting its return to stable performance.
Earlier in his career, Michael held senior positions with Hyatt Hotels, including assignments at the Grand Hyatt Doha and Park Hyatt Dubai, which further shaped his global perspective.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel Management from the International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide, Australia, and a Diploma in International Hotel Management from the Swiss Hotel Association.
Michael’s leadership approach emphasizes collaboration, cultural understanding, and a focus on team development. He values meaningful engagement with guests, colleagues, and ownership stakeholders.
David Todd, Vice President Operations at Minor Hotels Middle East, commented, “We welcome Michael to Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. His operational experience and focus on guest experience align well with the resort’s goals as it enters a new phase of development.”
Michael added, “I’m pleased to return to Dubai and to join Anantara The Palm. The resort occupies a distinct place in the market, and I look forward to working with the team to support its ongoing development.”
His appointment coincides with a renovation phase at the property, involving a multi-million-dollar investment. Planned enhancements include updated guest rooms, a new adults-only area, and refreshed dining venues—aimed at strengthening the resort’s position within Dubai’s hospitality landscape.
