Singapore to Host Series of WindEnergy Conferences and Exhibitions from 2026 to 2029

WindEnergy Conference and Exhibition launched in Singapore to accelerate growth of renewables in Asia-Pacific | Singapore Tourism Board

DN Media Group AS (RECHARGE), Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a series of wind energy conferences and exhibitions in Singapore from 2026 to 2029. The signing ceremony was attended by the First Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Tschentscher, and Singapore’s Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Lee Chong Hock.

Under the MOU, EnterpriseSG and STB will support RECHARGE and HMC in organizing:

  • The two-day RECHARGE Wind Power Summit Asia-Pacific, powered by WindEnergy Hamburg, in 2026, and
  • The three-day WindEnergy Asia-Pacific powered by RECHARGE in 2027 and 2029.

Wind energy is gaining momentum in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with markets such as Australia, India, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and Vietnam introducing targets, feasibility studies and auctions. APAC currently has 607.5 gigawatts of installed wind power as of 2024. Offshore wind is also advancing as a key technology to meet the region’s growing energy needs, with 50 gigawatts of new offshore wind capacity expected by 2034, representing more than 60% of global additions.

To support this development, coordinated efforts between governments, industry and academia are needed to facilitate dialogue, best-practice sharing and collaboration. The upcoming WindEnergy Asia-Pacific and RECHARGE Wind Power Summit Asia-Pacific events aim to serve as platforms for stakeholders to convene, explore partnerships and advance both offshore and onshore wind deployment across the region. The events also support Singapore’s ambition to strengthen its role as an offshore wind hub in APAC, fostering expertise, knowledge exchange and industry connections.

The MOU signing took place during the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit 2025, powered by WindEnergy Hamburg, in Hamburg. This marks WindEnergy Hamburg’s first expansion outside Europe. The partnership builds on the established reach of WindEnergy Hamburg and RECHARGE’s sector insights and seeks to bring together global and regional companies across the offshore wind supply chain. Activities planned include conferences, trade fairs, plenaries, roundtables, networking sessions and site visits to Singapore-based offshore wind supply chain companies.

Mr Soh Leng Wan, Assistant Managing Director for Manufacturing at Enterprise Singapore, said that Singapore aims to support the region’s offshore wind development and views the events as a platform to foster cooperation with industry stakeholders.

Mr Poh Chi Chuan, Executive Director for Exhibitions & Conferences at the Singapore Tourism Board, noted that hosting Singapore’s first dedicated wind energy exhibition aligns with the country’s positioning as a Global-Asia business hub and contributes to broader sustainability efforts.

Mr Baard Haugen, CEO of DN Media Group, stated that the collaboration reflects an opportunity to connect global expertise with regional needs, supporting APAC’s energy transition through dialogue and industry engagement.

Mr Heiko M. Stutzinger, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH, said that WindEnergy Asia-Pacific powered by RECHARGE will draw on global and regional expertise and that WindEnergy Hamburg will promote the event through its international network.
