New aircraft to support offshore energy operations and fleet renewal

Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH), through its subsidiaries Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH North), has placed an order for three Airbus H225 helicopters. The aircraft will support offshore energy operations and the gradual replacement of older helicopters in the fleet.

The order builds on a long-standing relationship between VNH and Airbus Helicopters, which has developed over more than four decades. It also reflects the operator’s plans to update its fleet and maintain its capabilities in offshore missions.

Matthieu Louvot, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, noted that the company will continue to support VNH as it updates its fleet and expands its operations.

The new helicopters will join VNH’s existing Airbus fleet, which includes Super Puma and H155 models. They will be used for offshore transport, utility missions, search and rescue, and other transport requirements.

The H225, part of the Super Puma family, is designed for operations in challenging environments and offers extended range and payload capacity. It is equipped with advanced avionics and autopilot systems that support operational safety and reduce pilot workload.

More than 360 H225 and H225M helicopters are currently in service worldwide, with over one million flight hours recorded. The aircraft is also used by several military operators, including those in Brazil, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Thailand.
