United Airlines Reaches Tentative Agreement with Flight Attendants Union
Proposed Contract Includes Pay Increases and Scheduling Changes
United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) have reached a tentative agreement covering approximately 30,000 flight attendants.
The proposed contract includes pay increases upon ratification, along with revised wage structures throughout the agreement. It also introduces additional compensation elements such as boarding pay and pay for extended gaps between flights. A signing bonus has also been included in the agreement.
Approval Process and Next Steps

The agreement is subject to review and approval by the AFA’s Master Executive Council, which includes representatives from all local chapters. If approved, the proposal will be put forward for a ratification vote by flight attendants.
If ratified, the agreement will remain in effect for five years before becoming amendable.
United Airlines acknowledged the efforts of both negotiating teams and the National Mediation Board in reaching the tentative agreement, which outlines updates to compensation and working conditions for its cabin crew.
