Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 set for Bangkok event

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has confirmed that Bangkok will host the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 on 14 November. The event marks the introduction of the Eurovision format in Asia and coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Thailand’s selection as host reflects its preparedness to stage large-scale international events, alongside its focus on tourism and the creative economy.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, said the event aligns with the country’s approach to tourism development, which focuses on quality travel experiences and long-term benefits for local communities. She added that initiatives such as “Trusted Thailand” aim to support confidence among organisers and visitors.

The event is being produced by Voxovation in collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and regional partners. The Grand Final in Bangkok will be co-produced with S2O Productions and broadcast across Asian markets and global digital platforms.

Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 will feature participation from broadcasters across countries, including Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, with additional participants expected. Each country will select its representative through national processes, with all entries competing in a single Grand Final.

Voting will combine public participation with input from professional juries, with live broadcasts across television and digital platforms, enabling audiences to engage with the event.

A digital engagement layer will also be introduced through ZOOP, a new global social media platform scheduled to launch on 9 April 2026. The platform will support content sharing, real-time interaction and audience participation.

With participation spanning multiple countries across Asia, the event is expected to support cultural exchange and strengthen Thailand’s role as a host destination for international events.
