AirAsia Prepares Flight Operations for Songkran Travel Period
AirAsia flight advisory issued ahead of Songkran holiday travel
AirAsia has stated that its domestic flight operations are running as scheduled ahead of the Songkran long weekend, with services operating at planned capacity.
The airline operates from four main hubs—Don Mueang (DMK), Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Chiang Mai (CNX), and Phuket (HKT)—and covers 41 routes to 25 destinations across Thailand.
Passenger demand for the travel period from 10 to 16 April 2026 is expected to remain high, with load factors projected to exceed 85 per cent. Routes to and from Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Hat Yai and Phuket are among those seeing increased travel activity.
To manage higher passenger volumes, AirAsia has advised travellers to allow additional time for airport arrival and to complete online check-in in advance.

Phairat Pornpathananangoon, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Aviation and Thai AirAsia, said the airline has prepared for increased travel during the holiday period and continues to focus on maintaining operational readiness despite external cost pressures. He added that flight schedules and service delivery are being managed to support passenger movement during Songkran.
The airline is also working with relevant authorities to support airport operations during the peak period.

As part of its pricing approach, AirAsia has stated that fares are being monitored in line with guidelines set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). Passengers are advised to make bookings through official channels, including the airline’s website and mobile application, to avoid unauthorised pricing.
