EarthCheck Certification Reflects Taj Chandigarh’s Ongoing Sustainability Efforts

Taj Chandigarh has completed 13 consecutive years of meeting the requirements for EarthCheck Platinum Certification, a benchmark that recognizes consistent performance in sustainability practices within the travel and tourism sector.

The certification is awarded by EarthCheck, which evaluates environmental and operational performance using a science-based framework. The recognition indicates sustained efforts in areas such as resource management, environmental impact and social responsibility.

What the EarthCheck Platinum Certification Means

EarthCheck’s certification programme assesses organisations against a range of environmental and operational indicators. Platinum status is granted after at least 10 continuous years of verified benchmarking.

With 13 years at this level, Taj Chandigarh has maintained consistent compliance with these standards over an extended period.

Sustainability Approach at Taj Chandigarh

The hotel is part of The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which has integrated sustainability practices across its portfolio. These include measures related to energy use, water conservation and waste management, alongside maintaining guest services.
