Spirit Airlines Completes IOSA Safety Audit Renewal
Spirit Airlines has completed the renewal of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). The IOSA program is a globally recognized benchmark for airline operational safety, and Spirit participated in the audit, which reviewed its operational procedures, safety events, and audit history.
“Our IOSA renewal involves a comprehensive assessment of our operations, and this successful outcome demonstrates our ongoing dedication to safety,” said John Bendoraitis, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Spirit Airlines.

Industry Recognition

Spirit Airlines was named Best Airline Overall for 2025 and recognized for its safety and affordability by WalletHub. Additionally, the airline earned the title of a Four-Star Low-Cost Carrier for 2025 from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). Its fleet is ranked among the youngest in the world according to ch-aviation. USA Today included Spirit in its 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the Best Frequent Flier Program and Best Airline Credit Card. Moreover, Spirit received the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Award of Excellence for the seventh consecutive year.
