Sofitel Launches New-Generation Le Petit Prince Kids Club in Krabi

Sofitel has introduced the first of its new-generation Le Petit Prince Kids Clubs at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, located on Thailand’s Andaman coast. The concept draws inspiration from Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, translating its themes into a dedicated space for young travellers through immersive, story-led design.

The new Kids Club marks the first implementation of Sofitel’s updated design approach, centred on storytelling, sensory engagement and the values associated with Saint-Exupéry’s work. Developed as part of the brand’s long-standing collaboration with Le Petit Prince, the space is designed to encourage imagination while using contemporary forms and sustainable materials.

Spanning 175 square metres, the Kids Club is structured around recognisable elements from the story, including desert, planetary, rose garden, forest and aviator-inspired settings. These environments reflect themes such as friendship, care for the environment, curiosity and human connection.

The club is divided into several activity zones. The Creative Area focuses on arts, crafts and storytelling, while the Move Area supports physical play through climbing and sliding. The Rest Area offers a quieter setting for reading and quiet games, while the Immersive Area blends play with learning, inspired by Thai culture and the surrounding natural environment.

Additional features include the Tree Tower for climbing activities, role-play corners designed for imaginative games, and an Art & Craft Studio overlooking the resort’s gardens. Reading nooks and evening workshops extend the experience throughout the day, allowing children to engage independently while parents enjoy time elsewhere in the resort.

Sustainability is integrated into the design through the use of non-toxic materials, natural light and eco-conscious play equipment. Visual references to the story—such as the Rose, the Fox, the aviator’s aircraft and stars—are incorporated throughout the space.

The Le Petit Prince experience also extends to the resort’s Maya Restaurant, which includes a themed corner for families, offering child-focused activities within the dining environment.

Since 2011, Sofitel has partnered with Le Petit Prince and the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation to support initiatives for children worldwide. Programmes such as the Sofitel Family Offer include family-friendly benefits while contributing to the Foundation through nightly donations.
