Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 Opens and Runs Until April 2026
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) invites local and international travellers to experience Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025, a five-month contemporary art event running from now until April 2026. The Biennale presents creative works across Phuket’s historic neighbourhoods, cultural sites, and outdoor locations.
Now in its fourth edition, the Biennale reflects Thailand’s creative economy and supports Phuket’s role as a destination for arts and cultural activities. This year’s theme, “Eternal Kalpa,” encourages visitors to consider time, change, and the relationship between people and nature. The artworks explore how memories, communities, and the environment continue to influence Phuket’s development.
A total of 65 artists and collectives from 25 countries are participating. Their works are on display across 19 venues in the Mueang, Kathu, and Thalang districts, including the former Pearl Theatre, the Phuket Contemporary Art Gallery, community buildings, and outdoor locations such as Saphan Hin and Promthep Cape. Each venue offers a distinct interpretation of Phuket’s culture and landscape.
In addition to the leading exhibition, visitors can explore 13 “Sala” created by artist groups and organisations from Thailand and abroad. These spaces, located across the island, host artworks, workshops, and community activities. Each Sala provides perspectives on Phuket’s history, traditions, and natural surroundings.
Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 aims to broaden public access to contemporary art while contributing to Phuket’s growth as a creative city. The event encourages visitors to explore the island through artistic experiences that connect with its architecture, heritage, and people.
A series of related activities will continue until April 2026, including talks, guided programmes, and community-led events. These initiatives are designed to help visitors and residents engage more deeply with the Biennale and understand the ideas behind the artworks.
With installations in both urban and coastal areas, Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 offers a way to explore the island through art in varied surroundings. The event contributes to Phuket’s cultural identity and supports Thailand’s position as a destination for creative and cultural experiences.
