Moxy Budapest Downtown Opens in Hungary
Hungary Welcomes First Moxy Hotels Property in Budapest
Moxy Hotels has opened Moxy Budapest Downtown, marking the brand’s debut in Hungary and expanding Marriott Bonvoy’s presence in Central Europe.
Located on Kazinczy Street in Budapest, the hotel brings Moxy Hotels’ lifestyle-focused hospitality concept to one of the city’s busiest cultural and nightlife districts.

Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brands, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, said Budapest’s cultural and creative atmosphere makes it a suitable market for the brand’s expansion.
The hotel has been developed within a former dance institution and features interiors designed by Austrian design studio BWM. The design incorporates industrial elements, theatrical lighting and references to Hungarian cultural history, alongside artwork by local artist Áron Hidvégi.
Moxy Budapest Downtown offers 281 guestrooms equipped with modern amenities and workspaces for business and leisure travellers.
Facilities at the property include Bar Moxy, a rooftop venue called Saddle & Sky, a 24-hour fitness centre and meeting spaces for events and gatherings.
The project was developed by Forestay Group as part of a wider redevelopment initiative in central Budapest aimed at combining hospitality, dining and community-focused urban spaces.
The hotel has also received BREEAM Excellent certification for sustainable development features, including energy-efficient systems, solar panels and EV charging infrastructure.
The opening further strengthens Moxy Hotels’ expansion across Europe as Marriott International continues to grow its lifestyle hospitality portfolio.
