Fairmont Mayakoba Appoints Gonzalo Güelman Ros as General Manager

Fairmont Mayakoba has announced the appointment of Gonzalo Güelman Ros as General Manager.

Ros brings over 30 years of international hospitality experience across the Americas and the Caribbean, with a focus on leading luxury resorts, enhancing operational performance, and elevating guest experiences.

Prior to this appointment, he most recently served as General Manager at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. His career also includes senior leadership roles with globally recognised hospitality brands such as Conrad Hotels & Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. He has been associated with complex pre-openings and large-scale renovation projects across multiple high-profile properties.

In addition to his hotel leadership roles, he is the founder of Talisman Group, a lifestyle curation firm focused on luxury residential experiences. He also previously served as Co-CEO and Managing Director of Xala Development, an eco-conscious project on Mexico’s Pacific coast.

Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his ability to lead large-scale resort operations, drive transformation projects, and deliver elevated guest experiences through a people-focused leadership approach.

In his new role, he will oversee operations at Fairmont Mayakoba as the resort continues to enhance its positioning through experiential programming, wellness offerings, and cultural initiatives, including its recent 20th anniversary developments.
