Moustache Group of Hotels Expands with New Luxuria Property in Jawai, Plans 25 More Openings by 2027

The Moustache Group of Hotels is launching a new property under its premium sub-brand, Luxuria, in Jawai, Rajasthan. This region is renowned for its leopard population and community-based eco-tourism. With this opening, the brand is further strengthening its presence in experiential hospitality across India.

The Jawai property is the first of 25 new openings planned by 2027, as the company expands to destinations including Rishikesh and Nainital in Uttarakhand, Bir, Dalhousie, and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, Gangtok in Sikkim, and Lonavala in Maharashtra. Moustache currently operates over 33 properties across 11 states, with five properties under its Luxuria vertical.

India’s luxury tourism sector, valued at USD 72.4 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 123.8 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 9.8%. The segment is supported by increasing domestic travel, demand for personalized experiences, and growing interest from international visitors seeking cultural experiences and sustainability.

Abhishek Khandelwal, Founder and Director of Moustache Group of Hotels, said, “Jawai represents a unique balance of heritage and eco-tourism. It is a living landscape where humans and leopards share the same habitat. Our Luxuria property aims to reflect this coexistence through its design and hospitality approach.”

Deepak Agarwal, Co-Founder and Director, added, “The new Luxuria property will feature nine cottages designed to reflect the local character of Jawai. With space for around 25 guests, it will offer curated safaris, regional cuisine, and wellness-focused stays. Each aspect of the experience is designed to help guests engage with the area’s culture and environment.”

Originally recognized for its backpacker hostels, Moustache Group of Hotels has expanded into different segments: Luxuria, which focuses on high-end travel experiences, and Select, which caters to mid-range stays for families and business travellers. The company aims to achieve ₹100 crore in revenue by 2026, with substantial growth anticipated from the Luxuria segment.

Through these developments, Moustache aims to enhance its role in India’s evolving hospitality landscape, focusing on authenticity, regional connection, and community engagement.
