Minor Hotels Signs NH Collection Sliema, Marking Its Entry into Malta

Minor Hotels has announced the signing of NH Collection Sliema, its first property in Malta. Scheduled to open by the end of 2026, the new-build hotel will offer 268 guest rooms and suites in the coastal town of Sliema.

A Resort-Like Experience in an Urban Setting

NH Collection Sliema is planned as a resort-style property within the city, featuring a spa and wellness centre, rooftop bar with sea views, swimming pool, and a restaurant. Located close to the seafront promenade, retail areas, and local dining options, the hotel will provide access to the island’s urban culture and coastal atmosphere. The property is less than 10 kilometres from Valletta, Malta’s capital.

Strategic Growth Through Franchising

The hotel, which will operate under a franchise agreement, aligns with Minor Hotels’ strategy to expand its franchising model across established and emerging markets. The group’s asset-right approach—combining owned, leased, managed, and franchised properties—supports scalable growth and collaboration with regional partners.

To support this direction, Minor Hotels recently appointed Sandra Cremesini as Senior Vice President Franchise Support, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas. With international experience in franchise management, including roles at Marriott, she will help guide the group’s franchising initiatives.
