APPOINTMENT

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery in New Orleans has appointed Lanell Duffourc as its new General Manager.
She brings 28 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the position. In her new role, Duffourc will be responsible for overseeing all areas of hotel operations, including financial performance, marketing, staff training, and guest experience.

Duffourc began her career in hospitality working behind the bar at a Holiday Inn, where she developed an interest in the industry’s fast-paced and service-oriented nature. Over the years, she has worked in various departments and positions, including front desk operations, food and beverage management, sales and marketing, human resources, and operations management. This varied experience has given her an understanding of both guest service and back-end operations.
During her career, Duffourc has led projects focused on improving team engagement, service quality, and operational outcomes.

Lanell Duffourc identifies The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery’s connection to local culture – through its history, art, and food – as central to its appeal. She also recognizes the operational challenges of running a property in a tourism-driven city and focuses on adapting to changing guest preferences through staff feedback, market insights, and continuous learning.
Outside of work, Duffourc is a founding board member of Rock Beats Cancer, an organization that supports local musicians during their treatment journeys.
