Jamaica Tourist Board Focuses on India Market at SATTE 2026

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is participating in SATTE 2026 for the third consecutive year, highlighting its engagement with the Indian market and ongoing developments in the destination’s tourism sector. The board is placing particular emphasis on romance and wedding travel, segments that align with evolving outbound trends from India.

Jamaica recorded more than three million visitor arrivals by the end of 2025 and into early 2026, reflecting continued demand across its source markets. Growth has been supported by destination marketing efforts, expanded air connectivity and a diversified tourism offering that includes leisure, culture, music, heritage and wellness experiences.

Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, said India represents a growing opportunity for the destination. He noted that Indian travellers are increasingly exploring long-haul destinations that combine cultural immersion, curated experiences and destination weddings. Jamaica’s established wedding infrastructure, including resort-based wedding planners and streamlined legal processes for overseas couples, supports this segment.

At SATTE 2026, JTB is engaging with Indian travel trade partners and media to strengthen market visibility and develop long-term relationships. The board is also preparing targeted initiatives to increase awareness of Jamaica’s tourism offerings among Indian travellers.

In parallel, investment activity continues within Jamaica’s hospitality sector. Excellence Oyster Bay in Trelawny has announced a US$25 million expansion programme, which includes the addition of 50 villa accommodations and upgrades to staff facilities. The development forms part of ongoing product enhancement efforts within the destination.

Jamaica’s presence at SATTE reflects its broader international strategy to expand into key growth markets, including India, while positioning the destination for sustained engagement across leisure and romance travel segments.
