Jamaica Tourism Reports Record July Arrivals and Announces New Resort Development
Jamaica’s tourism sector is reporting growth, with July 2025 marking the highest number of visitor arrivals to date and the announcement of a major new resort.
The island welcomed 286,548 stopover visitors in July 2025, a 16.5% increase compared to July 2024 and a 4.8% increase over July 2023. Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, noted that the results reflect the effectiveness of Jamaica’s destination assurance programme and marketing efforts.
Director of Tourism, Donovan White, emphasized that the growth reflects a range of travelers choosing Jamaica, from families on vacation to business visitors and returning guests.
In addition to the arrival figures, work has begun on Moon Palace, The Grand, a $700 million, 1,200-room resort in Success, St. James. The development will include overwater bungalows, more than 13 restaurants, a waterpark, and what is planned to be Jamaica’s largest spa. According to Minister Bartlett, the project is intended to align with the government’s vision for inclusive tourism by creating benefits for surrounding communities.

Together, the strong July arrivals and the resort groundbreaking highlight ongoing expansion in its tourism sector, combining increased demand with new developments designed to enhance visitor options and support local economies.
