Vignette Collection Expands in Portugal with Braga Hotel Signing

Portugal Expansion Continues for IHG’s Vignette Collection Brand
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Esperança Hotel, Vignette Collection in Braga, expanding its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Portugal. With this addition, IHG’s Vignette Collection portfolio in the country now includes six open and pipeline hotels.
The new property joins other Vignette Collection hotels in Portugal, including Convent Square Lisbon, Casa da Companhia Hotel & Spa, and Onyria Marinha Cascais.

Located in Braga city centre, Esperança Hotel, Vignette Collection will feature 58 rooms and will be developed by converting two existing buildings. The hotel is owned by Hotel Janes LDA, led by Luciana Borges, and will be managed by Amazing Evolution. The property is scheduled to open in September 2026.
IHG said the signing reflects continued growth for the Vignette Collection brand across Southern Europe and further strengthens its presence in Portugal.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said Portugal remains an important market for the company and described Braga as a suitable destination for the expanding Vignette Collection portfolio. He added that the brand continues to attract hotel owners looking to maintain the individuality of their properties while accessing IHG’s global systems and network.

Luciana Borges, CEO of Hotel Janes LDA, said Braga’s historical identity and cultural character played a key role in bringing the Vignette Collection brand to the city’s historic centre. She added that the partnership with IHG and operational support from Amazing Evolution would help position the hotel for both international travellers and the local community.
Launched in 2021, Vignette Collection was introduced as a conversion-focused brand that allows hotels to retain their identity while joining the IHG network. The brand currently has a growing portfolio of properties across Europe, with additional hotels under development.
