IHG Introduces New Travel Initiatives for Young Travellers in Greater China

IHG Hotels & Resorts has introduced a series of new initiatives to engage young travellers in Greater China, in response to changing travel preferences among Gen Z consumers.

The programme focuses on three key areas: shared interests, travel value, and destination inspiration, through partnerships, student offers, and curated travel itineraries designed to encourage travel and strengthen guest engagement.

New Experiences for Young Travellers

With more than 230 million Gen Z consumers in Greater China, IHG Hotels is expanding its youth-focused strategy through collaborations that reflect changing travel habits.

As part of the initiative, IHG One Rewards has extended its partnership with the King Pro League (KPL), offering members exclusive benefits during the KPL Summer Season and connecting with travellers through esports and entertainment.

Student Offers and Membership Benefits

IHG Hotels is also introducing a 20% accommodation discount for students through the IHG One Rewards WeChat mini-program.

The offer is available across selected brands, including Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, EVEN Hotels, Atwell Hotels and Garner Hotels.

Members can also earn and redeem points while accessing additional benefits through the loyalty programme.

Curated Summer Travel Itineraries

To support different types of leisure travel, IHG has created eight curated travel itineraries covering destinations such as Xi’an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing.

The itineraries combine hotel stays with local attractions, neighbourhood experiences and cultural activities, helping travellers plan trips more easily.

IHG Hotels said the initiatives are designed to address the changing preferences of younger travellers by combining accommodation, loyalty benefits, and destination experiences across its portfolio of brands in Greater China.
