IHG Hotels & Resorts and Rakuten Travel Partner to Offer Exclusive Loyalty Benefits for Travellers in Japan

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Rakuten Travel have announced a new partnership to offer domestic travellers in Japan exclusive loyalty benefits when booking IHG properties through the Rakuten Travel platform. The collaboration covers more than 50 IHG hotels across the country.

Through this partnership, Rakuten Travel users can now access IHG One Rewards member rates and earn both Rakuten Points and IHG One Rewards Points when staying at IHG hotels in Japan. Travellers can also enroll in IHG One Rewards directly through Rakuten Travel or the IHG App for a simplified experience.

Since June 2025, IHG One Rewards members have been able to select Rakuten Points as their earning preference when booking directly at select IHG hotels worldwide. Members can also convert existing IHG One Rewards Points into Rakuten Points, offering more flexibility in how they use their rewards.
