IHCL signs Vivanta hotel in Vellore, Tamil Nadu
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Vivanta hotel in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. This greenfield project marks IHCL’s entry into the city.

Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said Vellore’s role as an education and industrial hub, along with improving connectivity and infrastructure, positions it as a developing hospitality market. She added that the city’s inclusion under the Government of India’s Smart Cities Mission reflects its growth trajectory and noted IHCL’s partnership with Mr. Baskaran for the project.
The proposed Vivanta Vellore will feature 100 rooms and is planned with contemporary design and social spaces aligned with the Vivanta brand positioning. The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a pool lounge bar. For events and meetings, the property will offer multiple meeting rooms and a banquet hall spanning over 2,500 square feet. Recreational facilities will include a gym and a swimming pool.
Mr. Baskaran of BBK Group said the collaboration with IHCL will introduce the Vivanta brand to Vellore and contribute to the city’s hospitality offerings.

Vellore is known for its cultural and educational significance, with landmarks such as the Golden Temple Sripuram and Vellore Fort. The city also serves as a major education and healthcare centre, while surrounding districts form part of an industrial belt with leather, automotive components, and engineering clusters.
