IHCL Highlights Chef Gargi Guha’s Recognition in Italian Cuisine

Chef Gargi Guha from the Italian Kitchen at the Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa has gained recognition in Italian cuisine by winning the title at the Barilla Pasta Championship – India Edition. Competing against six finalists from across the country, she showcased her dish, Seradura Cannoli. This creation combined aspects of the Goan-inspired Portuguese dessert seradura with the traditional Italian cannoli, resulting in a thoughtful interpretation of cross-cultural flavours.
The Barilla Championship is renowned for recognizing chefs who exemplify authenticity, sustainability, and creative expression within Italian culinary traditions. Chef Gargi’s achievement marks a significant milestone for Goa’s culinary community, underscoring the region’s growing affinity with global cuisine.

She will represent India at the Barilla Asia Championship in Kuala Lumpur. Her preparation for the national round involved consistent practice and refinement of her technique, highlighting the dedication required to compete at this level.
Megha Bhatia, General Manager, Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Goa, commented, “At IHCL, we take pride in nurturing talent and ensuring opportunities for growth across the organisation. Chef Gargi’s recognition highlights the importance of guidance, creativity, and steady skill development. Her progress also aligns with our continued focus on supporting women in hospitality and recognising merit.”
