InterContinental Opens New Luxury Resort in Ha Long Bay
InterContinental is expanding its presence in Vietnam by opening the InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, located within the UNESCO-recognized Ha Long Bay. Surrounded by the mountain islands and coastal scenery of the bay, this resort represents a new chapter for the brand in this beautiful destination.

Jesper Larsen, General Manager of InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, shared that the property aims to offer an experience shaped by Vietnamese hospitality and the interests of today’s traveller. He noted that the resort is designed to welcome guests who appreciate cultural discovery and the natural character of Ha Long Bay.
The resort features 275 rooms, suites, and villas, six dining venues, a children’s activity centre, a spa, and a range of meeting and event spaces.
Designed by WATG, the architecture reflects elements of local heritage and the landscape of Ha Long Bay. Interiors created by P49Deesign draw from Vietnam’s traditional bamboo basket boats, while rooms incorporate colours and textures inspired by the surrounding marine environment.

The resort’s culinary offering includes six venues. Two signature restaurants will highlight Japanese cuisine—Roku & Star Bar, scheduled to open later this year, will offer dishes prepared using six classic techniques and will feature a Sake Library and a bamboo installation referencing Ha Long’s dragon legend. Other dining options include Marina Kitchen, with a seafood-focused menu; La Baguette, serving French-Vietnamese dishes; Del Mar, inspired by the floating village of Cửa Vạn; and Vue, the lobby lounge overlooking the bay.
The Hidden Lagoon spa delivers treatments in collaboration with Margaret Dabbs London and Sodashi. Guests can also enjoy recreational options, including swimming pools, archery, and beach volleyball.

Family-friendly facilities include the Planet Trekkers kids’ club, offering activities such as conical hat painting and candle making. The Game Room provides entertainment for teens and families, featuring cinema, gaming, billiards, and more. Event venues include the Tonkin Ballroom and Cat Ba Ballroom.
InterContinental Halong Bay Resort is part of the brand’s ongoing global evolution to meet the expectations of contemporary travellers. The property joins a portfolio of InterContinental hotels worldwide, including several in Vietnam, ahead of the brand’s 80th anniversary in 2026.
