IHCL to Acquire 51% Stake in Atmantan, Expands into Integrated Wellness
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 51% stake in Sparsh Infratech Private Limited, the owning company of Atmantan, a wellness centre located in Mulshi near Pune. The move gives IHCL ownership of the Atmantan brand and its proprietary expertise, supporting the expansion of its wellness offerings in collaboration with the centre’s founding promoters.
Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, stated that the growing wellness tourism market is creating a convergence of health and hospitality, with travellers showing interest in immersive wellness experiences beyond conventional treatments. He noted that IHCL’s entry into the integrated wellness segment with Atmantan aligns with these evolving preferences and complements the company’s existing brand portfolio.
He added that the partnership with founders Sharmilee and Nikhil Kapur brings together Atmantan’s established programmes and IHCL’s plans to develop the integrated wellness segment across select destinations globally, including within its own network.
Mr. Nikhil Kapur, Founder-Director of Atmantan Wellness Centre, said the collaboration represents an important step for Atmantan, highlighting the opportunity to reach a wider audience by combining science-led wellness programmes with IHCL’s hospitality platform and access to Taj InnerCircle’s customer base.
Mrs. Sharmilee Kapur, Founder-Director, added that Atmantan was created on the belief that wellness is achieved through the harmony of spirit, mind, and body. Partnering with IHCL will support the centre’s vision while maintaining authenticity and the quality of guest experience.
