Hyatt Opens Andaz Lisbon, Marking Brand’s Entry into Portugal

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Andaz Lisbon, marking the brand’s debut in Portugal and expanding Hyatt’s lifestyle portfolio in Europe.

Located in Lisbon’s Baixa district, the hotel places guests close to many of the city’s historic landmarks and cultural sites. Overlooking Praça do Comércio and the Tagus River waterfront, the property is within walking distance of cafés, boutiques and nightlife that define the area. The hotel has been designed to offer guests a connection to the local culture and character of Lisbon.

Amar Lalvani, President and Creative Director of Lifestyle at Hyatt, said the opening reflects the company’s continued focus on growing its lifestyle portfolio in Europe. He noted that Lisbon’s history, creativity and cultural identity are reflected in the design and guest experience at the new property, which aims to connect visitors with the city through local collaborations and storytelling.

Guest Rooms and Suites

Andaz Lisbon features 170 rooms and suites designed with references to Portuguese design and craftsmanship. Materials such as cork, stone, mosaic tiles and mahogany are incorporated into the interiors, blending traditional elements with contemporary design.

Guest rooms feature integrated technology to support a seamless stay, along with digital art and in-room amenities. The rooms also include Byredo bath products and views across the Lisbon cityscape.

Dining Experiences

The hotel offers several dining venues that highlight Portuguese flavours alongside contemporary influences.

Luzzi, the rooftop restaurant and terrace, presents a menu inspired by Portugal’s culinary connections with other parts of the world. The venue also offers views of Lisbon’s skyline.

Located at the centre of the hotel, Andaz Lounge draws inspiration from Lisbon’s traditional street kiosks, serving Portuguese dishes with a modern approach in a casual setting.

Wellness Facilities

Andaz Lisbon includes a fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment for guests who wish to maintain their workout routines while travelling. The hotel also plans to introduce a spa offering treatments designed for relaxation and recovery.

Guests will also have access to a range of in-room spa services, allowing them to arrange personalised treatments during their stay.

Cajetan Araujo, General Manager of Andaz Lisbon, said the opening introduces the Andaz brand to Lisbon and aims to provide guests with experiences connected to the city’s culture, art and local community. He added that the hotel’s central location allows visitors to explore Lisbon while experiencing Portuguese hospitality throughout their stay.
