Etihad A380 Debuts in Tokyo
Etihad Expands Tokyo Service with Daily A380 Flights
Etihad Airways has marked the arrival of its Airbus A380 in Japan, with the aircraft operating its inaugural flight to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport on 18 June 2026.
The introduction of the double-decker aircraft on the Abu Dhabi–Tokyo route increases capacity and enhances Etihad’s product offering between the two cities. The A380 will now operate daily services, providing travellers with additional connectivity between Japan, Abu Dhabi and destinations across Etihad’s international network.
The deployment also marks the introduction of The Residence on flights to and from Japan, making the private onboard suite available in the market for the first time.
Four Cabin Classes on the A380
Etihad’s Airbus A380 features four cabin classes designed to cater to different travel preferences.
The aircraft includes:

The Residence is Etihad’s private three-room suite located on the Airbus A380.

The introduction of The Residence provides passengers travelling between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo with access to one of the airline’s most distinctive onboard products.
Enhanced Connectivity Between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo
The daily A380 service is expected to support both business and leisure travel while strengthening links between the UAE and Japan.
Passengers travelling through Abu Dhabi can also connect to destinations across Etihad’s network or take advantage of the airline’s Abu Dhabi Stopover programme.
