Emirates Marks UAE–Kuwait Week with Onboard Initiatives Celebrating Bilateral Ties
Emirates marked UAE–Kuwait Week with a series of onboard initiatives highlighting the longstanding relationship between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait.
To commemorate the occasion, Emirates introduced a selection of traditional desserts across all cabin classes on its 30 weekly flights between Dubai and Kuwait. Passengers were served a Pistachio Rahash Tart in all cabins, while First and Business Class travellers were offered a Gahwa Tart. Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers received a Toffee Date Cake. Special onboard announcements were also made to acknowledge the significance of the week.
Throughout UAE–Kuwait Week, customers had access to a curated selection of Arabic entertainment, including Kuwaiti films and television series such as Gergasha, Fath Hesab, Al Sohba Al Holwa, and Darb Al Zalag. The in-flight entertainment offering also featured music albums by Kuwaiti artists, including Abdallah Al Rowaished, Mutref Al Mutref, and Nabeel Shuail.
Flight EK855 on February 2 was operated by a Kuwaiti national, Captain Husain Alabdulmohsen, alongside Emirati First Officer Ishaq Abdulla, reflecting cooperation and shared values between the two countries.
Kuwait was among the first GCC destinations served by Emirates when the airline launched operations in 1989, initially operating two weekly flights using a Boeing 727. Today, 29 of the 30 weekly services are operated by retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft and Airbus A350s, all of which offer Premium Economy alongside the airline’s standard cabin products. Over the past three decades, Emirates has carried more than 16 million passengers on over 81,000 flights between Dubai and Kuwait, connecting travellers to more than 150 destinations across its global network. Kuwait is also home to more than 268,000 Emirates Skywards members.
Kuwait was among the first destinations to welcome the Airbus A350, which entered service in January 2025. Emirates currently operates two daily A350 flights on the Dubai–Kuwait route, offering features such as wider aisles, quieter cabins, advanced lighting, and the airline’s in-flight entertainment system, ice.

Emirates and Kuwait Airways also maintain an interline agreement, signed last year, which allows passengers to connect across both networks. The partnership provides Kuwait Airways customers access to 19 Emirates destinations, while Emirates passengers benefit from expanded connectivity across Kuwait Airways’ regional network.
Beyond passenger services, Emirates continues to support trade between Kuwait and international markets through a weekly freighter operation. Over the past five years, Emirates SkyCargo has transported more than 165,000 tonnes of cargo to and from Kuwait, including fresh produce, pharmaceuticals, and mail and courier shipments, supporting trade and logistics flows between Kuwait and the wider Emirates network.
