Emirates Introduces New Amenity Kits Highlighting Endangered Species

Emirates will introduce a new range of complimentary amenity kits for Premium Economy and Economy Class customers on long-haul flights from December. The reusable kits, designed in partnership with United for Wildlife, aim to raise awareness of endangered species and incorporate more sustainable materials, including bio-based cactus components.

For the first time, Premium Economy amenity kits will include skincare and wellness products from Aveda, expanding the onboard offering for customers.

Wildlife-Inspired Design and Storytelling

The new amenity kits form a collectable range inspired by four natural environments: sea, sky, forest, and desert. Each pouch features hand-drawn artwork and includes a story card that provides information about the featured animal. Species highlighted across the collection include African grey parrots, Arabian gazelles, Arabian oryx, Asian black bears, Bengal tigers, blue sharks, Bornean orangutans, chimpanzees, fennec foxes, green sea turtles, manta rays, pangolins, peregrine falcons, small-clawed otters, totoaba, and western gorillas, among others.

Passengers can learn more about conservation efforts linked to the initiative through the “Guardians” series on Emirates’ inflight entertainment system, ice, which features stories about wildlife rangers and conservation workers. The series is associated with Prince William and The Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife programme.

Premium Economy Amenity Kits

The 2025/26 Premium Economy amenity kits feature larger pouches with wrist straps and include socks, eyeshades, earplugs, a Colgate dental kit, and Aveda lip balm, hand cream, and hydrating face lotion. Socks and eyeshades are made from recycled post-consumer polyester, while packaging materials such as story cards and earplug wrappers use paper sourced from responsibly managed forests.

These kits are available on selected overnight long-haul flights, with designs showcasing endangered species such as pangolins, glass frogs, chimpanzees, Bengal tigers, manta rays, and green sea turtles.

Economy Class Amenity Kits

Economy Class customers on overnight long-haul flights will also receive updated amenity kits featuring socks, eyeshades, earplugs, and a dental kit. As with Premium Economy, the soft goods are made from recycled materials, and paper components are responsibly sourced.

Economy Class designs highlight species such as Arabian gazelles, Arabian oryx, blue sharks, western gorillas, gibbons, Bornean orangutans, peregrine falcons, and Cape vultures, with accompanying story cards that explain each animal’s conservation challenges.

Sustainability and Conservation Commitment

The collaboration with United for Wildlife supports Emirates’ Environmental Sustainability Framework, which includes measures to address illegal wildlife trade. Emirates is a member of the United for Wildlife Transport Taskforce and maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward the illicit transport of wildlife and wildlife products. Its cargo division, Emirates SkyCargo, has banned the carriage of hunting trophies from elephants, rhinoceroses, lions, and tigers.

In June 2023, Emirates achieved IATA Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) Stage One certification, along with the IEnvA Illegal Wildlife Trade module, reinforcing its focus on responsible operational practices.

Through its new amenity kits, Emirates aims to combine onboard comfort with education and awareness, using everyday travel items to highlight conservation issues and responsible travel practices.
