Emirates and flydubai Partnership Expands Network and Travel Benefits
Emirates and flydubai partnership continues to strengthen, offering travellers broader connectivity across an extensive global network while providing integrated benefits through the shared Emirates Skywards loyalty programme.
Here are eight key points highlighting the advantages available to travellers:
1. Expanded global access: The combined network of Emirates and flydubai covers 245 destinations across 103 countries.
2. Broader travel options: Emirates customers can access 103 destinations operated by flydubai, while flydubai passengers can reach 107 destinations served by Emirates. Frequently booked destinations include Kathmandu, Baku, Krabi, Belgrade and Zanzibar.
3. New destinations added: Recent additions to the Emirates network include Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Siem Reap and Da Nang. flydubai has introduced routes to Chisinau, Iasi, Vilnius, Riga and Nairobi.
4. Increasing passenger volumes: More than 5 million passengers travelled on codeshare flights over the past year, reflecting a 10% rise compared to the previous year. Since the partnership began in 2017, over 22 million travellers have used the combined network.
5. Demand for enhanced cabin choices: Bookings in Emirates’ premium cabins, including First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy, grew by 20% in the past year. Premium Economy bookings within the partnership increased by 130%.
6. Streamlined travel experience: Integrated services include simplified check-in, coordinated baggage transfers, aligned schedules, and access to Terminal 3 in Dubai for eligible passengers. flydubai Business Class customers benefit from services such as Meet and Assist, seated check-in, and Fast Track access at Terminal 2.
7. Integrated loyalty programme: Nearly 18 million Emirates Skywards members have earned 311 billion Skywards Miles and redeemed 303 billion Miles across both airlines. Platinum, Gold and Silver members receive benefits including lounge access, extra baggage allowance and priority check-in on Emirates and flydubai.
8. More ways to use Miles: The Classic Rewards option allows members to book flights with a fixed number of Miles, with flydubai rewards starting from 5,000 Miles for access to more than 130 destinations. The Cash+Miles feature on flydubai provides additional flexibility, with 3,500 Miles offering AED 100 off ticket prices.
Investment in customer experience continues across both airlines. Emirates’ fleet retrofit programme, covering approximately 220 aircraft with cabin upgrades and Premium Economy installations, is progressing. flydubai has completed cabin enhancements on 15 aircraft and introduced a dedicated Business Class check-in area at Terminal 2.
Together, Emirates and flydubai operate 363 aircraft. Emirates’ fleet of 267 widebody aircraft includes A380, Boeing 777 and A350 models, while flydubai operates 96 Boeing 737 aircraft. Both airlines remain aligned with Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to build a combined network of 400 destinations from Dubai.
