Delta Marks National Philanthropy Day with Community-Focused Initiatives
Delta employees contribute to their communities every day by providing care and service to support meaningful connections. For National Philanthropy Day on November 15 and Philanthropy Month, Delta joined organizations worldwide to recognize the importance of generosity and the collective impact of community involvement.
Earlier this month, Delta sponsored the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Philanthropy Day event in Atlanta, which recognized individuals and organizations that advance community support efforts. The gathering brought together nonprofit leaders, corporate partners, and community advocates who share a focus on strengthening local impact.
Delta’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Amelia Deluca, opened the event by reflecting on the airline’s 100th year and its ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
“As we commemorate our Centennial year, we have seen the value of people coming together,” Deluca said.
“Philanthropy is about lifting up others. It reflects the combined efforts of employees, partners, and neighbors working toward shared progress.”
Delta continues to support volunteerism through employee giving and service programs. Team members contribute thousands of hours annually to initiatives ranging from youth support and education to sustainability and disaster response.
In recognition of its Centennial year, Delta increased its participation in Global Volunteer Month this April, completing more than 150 community events and over 8,600 hours of service worldwide. In 2025, Delta Air Lines and The Delta Air Lines Foundation contributed $73 million in charitable funding, supported more than 400 volunteer events with the involvement of over 30,000 volunteers, and partnered with more than 500 community organizations across five continents.
