Delta Cancels Midwest Flights Ahead of Forecasted Winter Weather
Delta Air Lines has cancelled several flights across airports in the U.S. Midwest as a winter weather system is expected to bring snow and strong winds to the region over the weekend.
In an update issued Friday evening, Delta said the cancellations will affect operations on Saturday and Sunday, including flights at its hub at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. The airline stated that the decision was made in response to weather forecasts indicating snowfall and high winds that could affect airport operations.
Passengers travelling to, from, or through affected airports have been advised to adjust their travel plans if possible. Delta is offering flexible rebooking options, allowing customers to move their flights outside the expected weather period.
Flight Changes and Rebooking Options

According to the airline, customers whose flights are impacted will be automatically rebooked onto the next available itinerary. Travellers can also review and modify their bookings on Fly Delta or on Delta Air Lines’ official website.
The airline noted that the same flight options available through customer service representatives can also be accessed directly through the app and website, allowing passengers to make changes without contacting reservations.
Delta said it will continue monitoring weather forecasts and may adjust flight schedules as conditions develop. The airline added that operational decisions are being made with passenger and staff safety in mind.
