Air India and Air India Express to Move Guwahati Operations to Terminal 2 from 16 March
Air India and Air India Express will begin operating all their flights from the newly opened Terminal 2 at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport starting 16 March.
The first Air India arrival at the new terminal will be flight AI879 from Delhi, while the return service AI880 to Delhi will mark the airline’s first departure from Terminal 2.
For Air India Express, flight IX1517 arriving from Kolkata will be the first to land at the new terminal. The same aircraft will then continue its onward journey to Imphal, becoming the airline’s first departure from Terminal 2 in Guwahati.
Expanded Operations at Guwahati

Currently, Air India operates two daily return flights between Delhi and Guwahati. Air India Express connects Guwahati with 17 daily flights linking the city to Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur and Kolkata.
Both airlines stated that their ground teams will assist passengers during the transition to the new terminal to ensure smooth arrival and departure processes.
