Delta and Starbucks launch “The In-Air Coffeehouse” experience to Costa Rica

Delta Air Lines and Starbucks are launching The In-Air Coffeehouse, an exclusive experience for SkyMiles Members that merges travel and coffee culture.

Delta and Starbucks launch coffee-inspired getaway to Costa Rica

From December 16 to 18, select Members will travel from Atlanta to Costa Rica on a special flight designed to create a relaxed coffeehouse atmosphere. The journey will conclude at Hacienda Alsacia, Starbucks’ coffee and innovation farm, where participants will explore the coffee-making process through guided activities.

SkyMiles Members can enter for a chance to join The In-Air Coffeehouse with a friend from Oct. 27 through Nov. 3 via Group Drop on SkyMiles Experiences. Membership is free at delta.com or through the Fly Delta app.

“Together with Starbucks, we’re creating opportunities that extend beyond travel.”

The Dec. 16 flight departs from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). During the flight, Starbucks baristas will guide participants through a coffee tasting and share insights into coffee culture.

“Coffee is central to our story,” said Erin Silvoy, SVP, Global Marketing at Starbucks.

“Working with Delta allows us to highlight the journey from bean to cup at Hacienda Alsacia in Costa Rica.”

Upon arrival, guests will stay in Belén and later visit Hacienda Alsacia for a day of activities, including:

  • Guided tours of coffee fields and hands-on experiences.

  • Coffee tastings and food pairings are unique to the farm.

  • Local cuisine and cultural experiences.
