Delta Marks Key Service Milestones in Colombia and Chile
Delta Air Lines is marking several milestones in Latin America, including 25 years of service in Bogotá and Santiago, 10 years in Cartagena, and 100 years since the airline’s founding. These anniversaries also coincide with the third year of the Delta–LATAM Joint Venture, a partnership that continues to expand travel options between North and South America.
Celebrating Regional Connections
Delta held events in Bogotá on Oct. 29 and Santiago on Nov. 4 to recognize these milestones. Aviation leaders, customers, media, and community partners joined to reflect on the airline’s growth and ongoing plans in Latin America.
For 25 years, Delta has offered connections to destinations across Colombia and Chile. Bogotá provides access to cultural landmarks such as La Candelaria and the Monserrate viewpoint. Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is known for its historic centre and coastal atmosphere. Santiago serves as a gateway to Chile’s wine regions and the Andes. Delta has invested in upgrading its Atlanta–Santiago route to the Airbus A350-900, featuring Delta Premium Select seating and regionally inspired dining options.
Delta’s Service Overview

Over three years, the partnership has increased capacity, operated more than 62,000 flights, and launched 30 routes, including connections such as Lima–Salt Lake City, Miami–Buenos Aires, and Bogotá–Miami.
The collaboration also provides benefits for customers, such as Wi-Fi access for SkyMiles members, easier airport transfers, and reciprocal loyalty rewards. Delta One customers can access regionally inspired dining and select wine offerings, including VIK “A” Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, available October–December.
Delta’s Centennial Year
Delta’s 100th anniversary includes events, updates to the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta, and new technology features such as an AI-powered virtual assistant within the Delta app and personalized entertainment options. The year also includes dedicated celebrations to honour employees and the airline’s legacy.
Why it Matters
