Minor Hotels has announced the promotion of Amir Golbarg to the role of Chief Operating Officer – Middle East & Africa, effective January 1, 2026.
Amir Golbarg has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer- MEA at Minor Hotels.
The promotion reflects Amir’s contribution to the region’s record year of growth, marked by multiple new hotel signings, and expansion in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Under Amir’s direction, the Middle East & Africa portfolio earned numerous industry accolades in 2025.
Amir joined Minor Hotels in 2012 as Director of Operations & Hotel Openings in Bangkok, and served in key international roles before becoming Hotel Manager at Souq Waqif Hotel Doha. He returned to the group in 2019 as Vice President Operations – Middle East & Africa
Amir has been a part of renowned hospitality brands including Al Rayyan and Katara Hospitality, contributing to projects such as The Ritz-Carlton Doha and Raffles Singapore.

In his new role as Chief Operating Officer (MEA), Amir will oversee brand expansion and growth, P&L, strategic direction, and operational excellence across all properties, ensuring elevated guest experiences, financial performance, and market positioning.
