APPOINTMENT
Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills has announced the appointment of Thomas Vidal as the new General Manager, effective August 1, 2025.
Thomas brings with him over 16 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry across Asia, including more than a decade in Japan. Thomas is a seasoned hotelier and a fluent Japanese speaker who has consistently demonstrated operational excellence and team centric leadership.
His appointment marks a significant milestone for Andaz Tokyo as the hotel continues to strengthen its position as a leading luxury lifestyle destination in Tokyo.
Prior to joining Hyatt, Thomas held several senior leadership roles in globally renowned hospitality brands, most recently serving as Hotel Manager at W Osaka. Under his leadership, the property achieved numerous accolades in 2024 including 1 MICHELIN Key and the Green Key Sustainability Certification.
His previous appointments include Cluster General Manager for Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya and Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya, as well as General Manager roles for Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya, Moxy Osaka Shin Umeda and Mercure Okinawa Naha. In each of these roles, Thomas led successful pre-openings and operational turnarounds.
Thomas holds a Master of Science in Management (MBA) from ESSEC Business School Paris. He has also completed a series of advanced leadership programs, including Marriott International’s Luxury University, Basecamp Senior Leadership Training, and Accor’s IHMP General Management Program.
