American Airlines Adds Flights and Expands Access Ahead of FIFA World Cup 26
American Airlines is introducing additional support for customers ahead of the FIFA World Cup 26. The airline is expanding flight options, increasing opportunities to redeem AAdvantage miles for match tickets, and launching exclusive AAdvantage Perks available only through American. To mark its role as the Official North American Airline Supplier of FIFA World Cup 26, the airline will also introduce aircraft decals across its domestic fleet and roll out a new marketing campaign leading up to the FIFA World Cup 26 Final Draw in Washington, D.C., on December 5.
Expanded Flight Connectivity for Match Travel
Once fans know the locations and times of their preferred matches, American will add additional flights across the 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The airline is increasing frequencies and deploying larger aircraft on several routes, supporting travel from the group stage through the final.
“Now Boarding: Super Fans” Digital Campaign Launches

“American is prepared with its plan for FIFA World Cup 26, adding an extra 27,000 seats on 12 routes this summer,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning.
“With more flights to all host cities, we aim to support fans as they participate in this moment across North America.”
In addition to expanded service on routes such as Los Angeles–Seattle and Boston–Dallas–Fort Worth, American is launching new nonstop flights on select routes, including Atlanta–Kansas City, during the quarter.
