American Airlines Marks 100 Years with Centennial-Inspired Inflight Menus
In 2026, American Airlines will mark its 100th anniversary by introducing inflight dining menus themed around the 1920s, reflecting the era of the airline’s founding. Starting February 9, travellers can pre-order special centennial menu items before their flights. These menus will debut in March on international and transcontinental Flagship First and Flagship Business flights, with a later release in April for domestic First Class. The dishes are inspired by 1920s flavours but crafted for contemporary in-flight dining experiences.

Commenting on the initiative, Rhonda Crawford, Senior Vice President – Customer Experience Design and Strategy, said the centennial year provides an opportunity to reflect on the airline’s history while continuing to develop customer experiences that align with current expectations.

The centennial dining options will be offered in domestic First Class, international Business Class, and transcontinental Business Class until August, giving customers special commemorative features during their trips.
Part of a Wider Centennial Programme

The centennial menus are part of a larger celebration marking 100 years of American Airlines. Other efforts include unveiling a special centennial aircraft livery, adopting a new logo across digital platforms and planes, and launching a dedicated website that showcases the airline’s history and special merchandise. In 2026, the airline will also introduce limited-edition amenity kits and sleepwear, with more announcements expected later in the year.
