flydubai Expands Aleppo Connectivity with Daily Syria Service

flydubai has launched its daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport (ALP), making the city its second destination in Syria after Damascus.

The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on 20 July and was welcomed with a water cannon salute and an official reception hosted by local authorities on arrival in Aleppo.

The new route strengthens air connectivity between the UAE and Syria, providing additional travel options for passengers travelling for business, leisure or to visit friends and relatives. It also offers improved access for Syrian communities living in the UAE and across the GCC, complementing flydubai’s three daily flights to Damascus while reducing travel times compared with indirect routes.

The launch follows the resumption of flights to Damascus in June 2025 and further expands the airline’s network in Syria. The service is also expected to support trade and tourism links between the two countries.

Commenting on the launch, Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said:

“The commencement of our daily flights to Aleppo, a city of historical and commercial significance, strengthens our presence in Syria and reinforces our commitment to connecting Dubai with key markets in the region. Since introducing our Damascus service last year, we have seen strong demand for travel between the UAE and Syria. This new route reflects our long-term commitment to the Syrian market while offering passengers more travel options and supporting economic and tourism activity.”

Aleppo, Syria’s second-largest city, is recognised for its history and cultural heritage. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is home to landmarks such as the Aleppo Citadel and Al-Madina Souq, one of the region’s largest covered markets.

Passengers travelling on flydubai’s Boeing 737 aircraft can access the airline’s updated cabin interiors, featuring Business Class lie-flat seats, redesigned Economy Class seating, onboard meals and refreshments, and inflight entertainment available on most of the fleet.

Aleppo is the latest addition to flydubai’s network following the launch of services to Bangkok and Benghazi. The airline also plans to begin flights to Pokhara, Nepal, from 23 September 2026.

Flight Details

The new service operates under flydubai’s codeshare partnership with Emirates, allowing passengers to book connecting itineraries across both airlines on a single ticket with through-checked baggage.

Flights operate daily between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Aleppo International Airport (ALP).
