Turkish Airlines Expands Pilot Training with CAE Partnership

Turkish Airlines has signed a multi-year agreement with aviation training company CAE to deliver five Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and two Flight Training Devices (FTD), with options to add two more Full Flight Simulators. The agreement was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow.

The investment supports the airline’s long-term plan to expand its pilot training capacity as its fleet continues to grow. The new simulators will also form part of Turkish Airlines’ new Flight Training Centre, construction of which began earlier this year. The simulator hangars are expected to become operational in 2027, while the complete training centre is scheduled to open in 2028.

Commenting on the agreement, Prof. Murat Şeker, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, said:

“As we continue to expand our fleet and global network, strengthening our pilot training infrastructure remains an important part of our long-term growth strategy. Building on our collaboration with CAE, these additional training devices will support pilot training across multiple aircraft types while maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance. The agreement will help us meet the growing training requirements of our expanding operations.”

Matthew Bromberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of CAE, added:

“This agreement reflects our long-standing relationship with Turkish Airlines and its continued confidence in CAE as a training partner. For more than 20 years, we have worked together to support the airline’s growth and evolving training requirements. Through this fleet of Airbus and Boeing training devices, we will continue providing simulation solutions that support pilot development, safety and future expansion.”

Simulators Included in the Agreement

Under the contract, CAE will supply:

• Two A321neo Full Flight Simulators
• Two B787 Full Flight Simulators
• One A350 Full Flight Simulator
• Two A350 Level-1 Flight Training Devices
• One optional A350 Full Flight Simulator
• One optional B787 Full Flight Simulator

The new training equipment will increase Turkish Airlines’ pilot training capacity for both narrowbody and widebody aircraft, supporting the airline’s future operational requirements while continuing its collaboration with CAE.
