Airbus Upgrades JetBlue A320 Fleet with EEIS2 Displays
JetBlue A320 Upgrade Supports Fleet Modernization Strategy
Airbus has signed an agreement with JetBlue to upgrade cockpit display systems across part of its A320 fleet. The agreement was announced during the MRO Americas.
The contract covers the installation of Enhanced Electronic Instrument System (EEIS2) displays on 46 aircraft, forming part of JetBlue’s ongoing fleet modernization and operational planning.

David Marcontell, Vice President of Technical Operations at JetBlue, said the upgrade supports the airline’s JetForward strategy, helping maintain operational consistency across its aircraft while improving reliability.

Robin Hayes, Chairman and CEO of Airbus North America, noted that upgrades to in-service aircraft help maintain efficiency and adapt to evolving operational requirements. He added that solutions such as EEIS2 allow airlines to integrate updated technologies into existing fleets.
EEIS2 replaces legacy cockpit displays with high-resolution LCD screens, improving the way flight information is presented to pilots. The system is supplied by Thales and integrated by Airbus.
The upgrade also supports compatibility with future avionics developments aligned with Federal Aviation Administration frameworks. It enables improved data visualisation and can support systems such as advanced landing aids and upgraded weather radar, contributing to clearer operational awareness in busy airspace.
In addition, EEIS2 contributes to a more consistent cockpit environment across fleets and provides a foundation for ongoing performance and operational updates.
JetBlue operates a large Airbus fleet in North America, including aircraft from the A320 Family and A220 series, and continues to invest in upgrades to improve operational efficiency and the overall travel experience.
