AirAsia Malaysia to Launch Kuala Lumpur–Batam Daily Service from 13 March 2026
AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK) will introduce a new daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Batam starting 13 March 2026, adding capacity between Malaysia and Indonesia and supporting travel across the Riau Islands Province.

The route will link Kuala Lumpur with Batam, a growing centre for business and tourism, and is expected to facilitate cross-border movement between the two countries.
Malaysia remains Batam’s largest source market, contributing over 25% of foreign tourist arrivals between January and August 2025. The new service is positioned to further support travel demand and tourism activity in the destination.
In 2025, international passenger arrivals at Hang Nadim International Airport reached nearly 140,000, reflecting a 64% increase compared to 2024. During the first three months of operations, the airline projects more than 22,000 passengers will travel on the new route.
With this addition, AirAsia Malaysia’s network between Malaysia and Indonesia will expand to 19 routes. In 2025, the airline carried close to three million passengers between the two countries.

The Kuala Lumpur (KUL)–Batam (BTH) service will operate daily from 13 March 2026. Introductory all-in one-way fares start from RM169 from Kuala Lumpur to Batam and from IDR899,000 from Batam to Kuala Lumpur. Promotional fares are available for booking until 8 March 2026 for travel between 13 March 2026 and 24 October 2026 via the AirAsia MOVE app and airasia.com.
